Introducing the LOA Verifier via REVIE

The LOA Verifier enables taxpayers to confirm in real time whether an LOA is officially registered in the BIR system.

Instead of contacting a BIR office for confirmation, businesses can now validate audit authority directly online through the chatbot.

To check the authenticity of a Letter of Authority:

  1. Visit the BIR Website at www.bir.gov.ph.
  2. Click the chatbot icon and select “LOA Verifier” from the menu.
  3. Enter the following information exactly as shown on the document:
    • Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
    • Registered Name of the Taxpayer
    • LOA Case Number

The system will confirm whether the LOA is valid and recorded in the BIR database.

Why This Matters for Your Business

  • Transparency and Accuracy: You can confirm the exact scope, assigned officers, and covered taxable period of the audit before granting access to sensitive financial records.
  • Legal Security: An examination conducted without a valid and system-registered LOA may be considered legally void. Verification helps protect your organization from irregular audit procedures.
  • Peace of Mind: The system is available online through the BIR website, providing real-time verification at your fingertips, 24/7.

Important Reminder to Taxpayers

The BIR encourages taxpayers to verify first before allowing examination of their books of accounts, accounting systems, ERP platforms, and payroll records.

Before providing access to financial documents:

  • Request a copy of the LOA
  • Confirm officer identities
  • Validate the LOA through the official website

Proactive verification supports compliance while protecting your organization from unauthorized audit activities.

For complete and official information, always refer to published issuances and updates from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
