Compensation Entitlement

  • Employees who do not work on the holiday
Qualified employees are entitled to receive 100% of their daily wage, provided they were present or on paid leave on the workday immediately before the holiday (March 19).

  • Employees who render work during the holiday (up to 8 hours)
Employees are entitled to 200% of their daily wage for work performed on Eid’l Fitr.

  • Employees who work beyond regular hours (overtime)
Overtime work on a holiday is compensated with an additional 30% of the employee’s hourly rate, on top of the applicable holiday pay.

  • Employees who work on a rest day that falls on the holiday
If the holiday coincides with the employee’s scheduled rest day, and they report to work, they are entitled to an additional 30% premium on top of the 200% holiday pay.

Important Notes

  • Holiday pay eligibility is subject to the employee’s attendance or approved leave status on the day immediately preceding the holiday.
  • Additional pay premiums apply depending on the nature of work rendered (e.g., overtime or rest day work).
  • Proper implementation ensures both compliance with DOLE regulations and fairness in employee compensation.
